Yegiazaryan Office Searched

Investigators on Monday searched the office of State Duma Deputy Ashot Yegiazaryan, who was stripped of parliamentary immunity and had a fraud case opened against him last week, the judicial news web site RAPSI reported.

The search in the office, located on Dayev Pereulok in central Moscow, lasted five hours, the lawmaker’s lawyer Dmitry Barannikov said, without elaborating. Yegiazaryan, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, is suspected of embezzling millions of rubles in Moscow construction projects. Possible charges against him carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
