Ukraine’s defense minister, Stepan Poltorak, says a Ukrainian military transport aircraft took small arms fire while flying over the Black Sea on Wednesday morning.
According to Poltorak, the gunfire came from a “Russian-captured oil rig” near the Odessa gas fields.
The aircraft, an AN-26, was damaged, but landed safely, without any harm to the crew.
Poltorak also claimed that the Ukrainian military has detected that Russia is deploying radar installations to the region, which Kiev says are normally used for missile guidance in air defense systems.
