Trump Slams Obama, Gives Putin an 'A' for Leadership

Donald Trump

Outspoken Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday called Russian President Vladimir Putin a better leader than U.S. President Barack Obama.

"I will tell you that, in terms of leadership, [Putin]'s getting an 'A' and our president is not doing so well. They did not look good together," Trump said to conservative pundit Bill O'Reilly on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" television show.

Putin and Obama met earlier this week on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, where they discussed the conflict in Syria.

Trump also said in the interview he agreed with Putin's support for Syrian President Bashar Assad — a leader Obama has described as "a tyrant."

"Putin is now taking over what we started," Trump said. "I say there's very little downside with Putin fighting ISIS."
