Skydiving Santas Soar Over Moscow

Skydivers dressed as Santas brought holiday cheer to busy Muscovites by jumping onto central Moscow’s Novy Arbat Ulitsa.

Footage appeared late last week showing several men BASE jumping off the roof of a Soviet-era high-rise onto busy traffic down below.

“Having landed, the thrill-seekers extended New Year’s greetings to passersby and ran away to avoid police,” the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported.

The Kremlin-funded RT television network’s video news agency Ruptly said the skydiving Santas wished eyewitnesses a Happy New Year while in mid-air.

Moscow police told the tabloid Moskovsky Komsomolets that a search was underway for the stuntmen.
