Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin is to sue the Novaya Gazeta newspaper for libel over claims that he is linked to one of the world's most expensive yachts, Moscow's Basmanniy Court said Thursday.

The newspaper published an article titled "The Secret of Princess Olga" on Aug. 1., which claimed that Sechin's wife regularly made long trips aboard a luxury vessel worth an estimated $190 million. The boat would also have running costs of roughly $19 million a year, the newspaper wrote.

Sechin is demanding that the article is removed from Novaya Gazeta's website and that copies of the paper featuring the story are destroyed.

The oil tycoon's wife, Olga Sechina, earlier filed a similar suit on claims that her privacy had been violated in the report.
