A fugitive Russian psychic has been arrested on charges of drug possession of a mysterious white powder, local media reported Thursday.

Arseniy Karazhdaev reportedly skipped bail and went on the run after being arrested for theft at a shopping mall in central St. Petersburg last year. At the time of his arrest, police officers had found a packet containing a mysterious substance that Karazhdaev said was “magic salt.”

Karazhaev, who featured on Russia's wanted list, was arrested by law enforcement agents this week and charged with drug possession and theft, the 360 television station reported on Thursday.

Karazhaev previously featured as a magician on the popular “Battle of the Psychics” reality television show, which is now in its 18th season. A fan of martial arts and Tibetan monks, Karazhdaev claimed to possess superpowers on the show.

In the episode that saw him getting knocked out of the competition, Karazhdaev was pitted against contestants including Tatyana “the northern witch,” Julia “the stereotype breaker” and Yuliy, “a sceptic and a fan of deduction.”
