Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said there are no plans to "unilaterally abolish" visas for Europeans traveling to Russia.
Lavrov's comments come on the heels of Ukraine's mulling the creation of a visa regime for Russians traveling to the country. Ukraine has recently signed a visa-free travel regime with the European Union.
Lavrov said his comments were not related to "tensions of the past three years" adding that decisions on visa travel were considered on their own merits.
