Kremlin-backed news outlet RT is set to receive an extra $19 million in state funding over the next two years, the Russian government announced Thursday.
The 1.2 billion ruble bonus is to help the channel with "a number of language tasks," according to Deputy Communications Minister Alexei Volin. The outlet currently provides services in English, Russian, Spanish, French and German.
The funds will be allocated at the start of 2017.
RT was recently praised by Russian President Vladimir Putin after it was named by the European Parliament as "propaganda" spreading "disinformation."
