Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who also oversees Russia's military-industrial complex, met with Syria's top leadership on Tuesday, according to the Interfax news agency.

Rogozin tweeted about the meeting from his personal account.

"Work in Damascus. Talks with Assad, Prime Minister Khamis and Foreign Minister Muallem. Victory in the war against terrorism also depends on the economy."

Rogozin included several photos of himself at the meeting.

Dmitry Rogozin has served as Russia's deputy prime minister and head of the defense and space industry since 2011.
