Putin to Join Ukraine Talks in Berlin — Reports

Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in talks on the Ukrainian conflict in Berlin on Oct. 19, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.

An unnamed source confirmed Putin's participation at the summit, although the Kremlin is yet to make an official announcement.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed earlier on Tuesday that they would meet to discuss the Minsk-2 agreements, which lay out steps to bring peace to eastern Ukraine.

Putin cancelled a trip to Paris earlier this week after Hollande accused Moscow of carrying out “war crimes” in Syria. The Kremlin maintains that the event was only cancelled after several cultural events were removed from the president's schedule.
