Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Moscow, Russia's RBC news outlet has reported. Two unnamed sources close to Russia’s Foreign Ministry told RBC that a meeting would likely take place on Wednesday afternoon, despite previous speculation that the two men may miss the chance to speak face to face.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday that Putin’s schedule had no mention of a meeting with the former oil executive. Tillerson’s schedule, released to journalists in Washington, also did not list a meeting with Putin.

Official confirmation of a meeting has yet to be issued by either side.

Putin said last month that he would be interested in speaking with Tillerson if he visited Moscow. “I have met with him a few times before, maybe two or three times,” Putin said.
