Prokhorov 'to Quit Business'

Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov said Thursday that he would quit business if the Right Cause party wins State Duma elections in December.

"I declare that I will quit business and will work in the State Duma 24 hours a day if the party wins the State Duma elections — and for some reason I do not doubt that I would," Prokhorov told reporters in Kursk, Interfax reported.

He said he would provide details about Right Cause's election program at a June 25 congress where he is expected to be elected party leader. Prokhorov said earlier that he would make Right Cause the second-largest faction in the Duma. Right Cause, which enjoys a 1 percent approval rating, needs 7 percent of the vote to enter the Duma.
