Moscow Authorities Block Anti-War March

Moscow's mayoral office has refused an application for permission to hold a protest against the war in Syria on Nov. 20. The march's organizer, Sergei Davidis, told Dozhd TV that no reason for the rejection was given, but an official explanation is expected within a few hours. He also promised to fight the mayor's decision in court.

The application to hold a march against Russian military intervention in Syria and Ukraine was filed on Nov. 7. Among the organizers were the 5 December Party, PARNAS, the movement "For Human Rights," and Solidarity.
