Flying Ants Invade Moscow

Youtube

Central Moscow has reportedly been flooded by flying ants drawn to the capital’s warm weather.

The irritating insects made an unwelcome return this summer to the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London for their so-called annual “nuptial flight” mating ritual.

While the airborne ants may be a nuisance, Moscow City Hall’s environmental protection department told the Moskva news agency that they are not dangerous.

“The insects settle to create new colonies,” the department’s press service was cited as saying Wednesday.
