A cafe devoted entirely to Russian President Vladimir Putin has opened in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, the Sibnovosti.ru news website reported Wednesday.
The ultra-patriotic “President Cafe” is the brainchild of Krasnoyarsk resident Svetlana Lautman, who spent three years studying business in the United States.
“Photographs of the president hang on the wall from different stages of his life. You can see what he was like when he was young, how he grew up and how he is now. We offer a view of the president from a different angle,” co-owner Dmitry Zhdanov told local news website Sib.fm.
There are also images of Russian warriors, hockey players, the Sayano–Shushenskaya Dam and cosmonaut Yury Gagarin.
“I myself am a patriot, but I see that not everyone is happy in our country. Therefore we decided to provide a place where people are able to have a bite to eat for a reasonable price and reminisce about Russia’s achievements in a pleasant, patriotic atmosphere,” Zhdanov said, Sib.fm reported.
Diners are greeted by a life-size cartoon of Putin that stands at the entrance to the cafe, with which you can have your picture taken. On the toilet door is a “Block NATO” sign and the toilet paper is printed with portraits of U.S. President Barack Obama. The Russian national anthem plays at midday.
The average bill in the cafe is around 150 rubles and the menu features dishes such as the “President’s Salad” and cocktails in the colors of the Russian flag, Sibnovosti.ru reported.
