83 Victims of Moscow Metro Crash Still in Hospital

More than one week after a deadly derailment in the Moscow metro claimed 23 lives, dozens of injured passengers remain hospitalized, Interfax reported Thursday.

In total, 83 victims are still receiving in-patient treatment following the accident.

Among them, eight are in critical condition and two are breathing through respirators, according to Georgy Golukhov, head of Moscow's Department of Health.

On July 15, three metro cars derailed between the Slavyansky Bulvar and Park Pobedy stations on the Dark Blue Line during morning rush hour. In addition to the lives lost, nearly 270 passengers sustained injuries.
