Should I drink tap water in Russia?

Tap water is thoroughly cleaned in Russia. However, many of Russia’s apartment buildings are antiquated and have old, tarnished pipes that can mix bad particles into the tap water. More than half of the pipes in Moscow are worn out, and the situation is worse in the regions where city governments lack funding to make the necessary renovations. The water is completely safe for taking baths and showers, but opt for boiled or bottled water when drinking.
