Gazprom Neft Unit to Build Wind Farm in Serbia

A Gazprom Neft-controlled energy company will help build Serbia's first wind farm, the company said.

Naftna Industrija Serbia, which is 56.5 percent controlled by Gazprom Neft, signed a deal last week with Serbian Energowind to build a wind farm in Plandiste, Serbia.

The wind installation, Serbia's first, will have 34 generators and a capacity of 102 megawatts.

Each company will take 50 percent of the wind farm, which Gazprom says is the first electricity-generating facility to be built in Serbia in 25 years.

The cost of the wind farm is estimated at 160 million euros ($211 million). That price includes preparatory work and the cost of obtaining the relevant permits, Interfax reported.
