Global taxi service Gett, previously known as GetTaxi, has expanded into five new Russian cities as part of a major expansion in the country, the TASS news agency reported Wednesday.

Gett is now available to residents of Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don and Krasnoyarsk, the company said in statement cited by TASS.

The move means that 25 million people in nine Russian cities can use Gett, the company said. The taxi service already operated in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod.

In two of the new cities, Gett will have to compete with rivals. Taxi providers Uber and Yandex.Taxi, a Russian service, already operate in Yekaterinburg. Yandex.Taxi is also available in Sochi.
