No. 2 airline Transaero announced Tuesday it had introduced onboard Internet access on one of its routes, Interfax reported.
"Today the first flight with commercial Internet access was performed on a Boeing-747," the company's general director, Olga Pleshakova, wrote on her Twitter account. The flight was to Vladivostok.
"Now passengers will be able to use Internet services every day on this route," Pleshakova tweeted.
Transaero also has plans to provide Internet access on its Boeing-777, which will fly to Khabarovsk, in the near future.
By the middle of 2013, Transaero will outfit 45 airplanes with equipment to access the Internet onboard. It also plans to provide Internet access on 30 of its aircraft by the end of this year.
