A government plane has landed in Domodedovo Airport carrying people from Russia and other the former Soviet republics who have been evacuated from Syria, the Emergency Situations Ministry reported Wednesday.
"An Il-62 plane has landed at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport," Interfax reported, citing a ministry spokesman.
Seventy of the 128 passengers on board the aircraft were children.
Eighty-three of the passengers were Russian nationals, while the rest were from Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.
On Tuesday, two ministry planes delivered about 20 metric tons of humanitarian aid to the eastern Syrian city of Latakia.
Since the beginning of the year, the Emergencies Ministry has evacuated 383 people from war-torn Syria.
Nearly 70,000 people have died in Syria since the start of the uprising against Bashar Assad in March 2011, according to UN figures.
