GOAT on a Horse: Russian Football Star Arshavin Spotted Leaving Strip Club by Steed

Who knew Andrei Arshavin hadn’t yet peaked?

The man who led Russia to the 2008 European Championship semifinals and scored four goals away at Anfield against Liverpool in the English Premier league achieved arguably his most legendary feat earlier this week when he departed a strip club by horse. A video of the adventure was widely shared by Russian social media on Tuesday.

The recently retired player, who is 37, was seen leaving Maximus, a club in St. Petersburg — where he was born and launched his career with Zenit. He first stumbled out hugging two women, then mounted the compliant colt.

But Arshavin did not manage to ride far. Police soon stopped him for a chat because he reportedly did not pay his full bill.

According to the Moskovsky Komsomolets tabloid, the star forward had only forked over 1,000 rubles ($14.75) and failed to pay the full fare for the ride.

… we have a small favor to ask. As you may have heard, The Moscow Times, an independent news source for over 30 years, has been unjustly branded as a "foreign agent" by the Russian government. This blatant attempt to silence our voice is a direct assault on the integrity of journalism and the values we hold dear.

We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. Our commitment to providing accurate and unbiased reporting on Russia remains unshaken. But we need your help to continue our critical mission.
