In Photos: Supporters Pay Tribute to Navalny on Late Opposition Activist’s Birthday
Supporters of late Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny marked his birthday on Tuesday by laying flowers and holding memorial events across Russia and Europe.
Navalny, President Vladimir Putin’s most vocal opponent who galvanized mass protest movements in Russia, would have turned 48 on this day had he not died in an Arctic prison colony in February.
Navalny's parents and mother-in-law visited a memorial service at her son's grave in Moscow, while his widow Yulia Navalnaya and several of his close allies attended a memorial service for him in Berlin.
