Carmaker Avtovaz has announced a recall of 30,200 Lada Granta and Lada Kalina cars in order to fix technical problems, Interfax reported Tuesday, citing a company statement.
Avtovaz said the recall applied to vehicles produced before April 7, 2013.
The news of the recall comes after former American adult movie actress Sasha Grey used a Lada Kalina to conduct a test drive in the Far East, repeating a road trip made by then-Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in 2010.
Grey, who was invited to carry out the test by a Russian car magazine, experienced several breakdowns of her Lada Kalina while driving in Khabarovsk.
