Russian graffiti artists have drawn a life-size Millennium Falcon on the roof of a Moscow mall ahead of the latest “Star Wars” premiere.
Walt Disney’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” a story about the origins of the character Han Solo, who was made famous by Harrison Ford in 1977, rolled out in Russian theaters on Thursday. In the series, Han Solo captained the Millenium Falcon starship to galactic glory, together with his trusted companion, Chewbacca.
“Timed with the solo release of the charming smuggler’s younger years, fans decided to make a gift to all fans of the space saga,” Russia’s Karo cinema operator said on its website Friday.
An accompanying promotional video showcased the team of graffiti artists using 150 liters of paint in six days to make the 587 square-meter 3D image on the roof of a Moscow mall.
“If you look at it from above, you get the sense that the spacecraft either just landed or is about to take off,” team member Sergei Moon told the Tjournal news website Friday.
