Russian Health Ministry officials announced plans Monday to launch a free mobile app for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts.
It will be unveiled in 2016, Yevgeny Bryun, the ministry's top drugs expert, told the M24 news website Monday.
Users of the app will be able to get information about support group meetings and advice from doctors on how to keep the addiction in check, as well as listen to online radio programs devoted to the topic, M24 reported.
"An app like this is designed to support people, because these addictions are very hard to fight. I think we will launch it next year," Bryun was cited by M24 as saying Monday.
He also announced a radio network to be launched in rehabilitation clinics. "Experts and alcoholics will talk on air about recovery," Bryun said.
