The opposition may stage its next rally in Moscow on June 12, Russia Day, said Sergei Davidis, a member of the Solidarity movement's political council.
"Preliminary discussions are under way; one of the options is to stage a big rally on June 12," Interfax quoted Davidis as saying Thursday.
The idea to organize a march on Russia's national holiday was proposed by leader of the Left Front movement Sergei Udaltsov, who has been under house arrest since Feb. 9 in connection with the investigation of clashes between protesters and police during last year's May 6 rally in Moscow.
Davidis said the final decision on the event would be made at the next meeting of the opposition's Coordination Council, which is expected to take place on Saturday.
The organizers of the next protest event want a broader agenda than just solidarity with the prosecuted opposition activists in the "Bolotnaya case," Davidis said.
