ROSTOV-ON-DON — Eleven people were killed in separate attacks across the North Caucasus between late Thursday and Saturday, news reports said.
An explosive-laden car blew up near a cafe in the Dagestani town of Khasavyurt on Friday, killing four people and gravely wounding five, the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
Earlier Friday, three suspected militants were killed in a shootout in the republic’s capital, Makhachkala, a regional police spokesman said.
Late Thursday, the head of village administration in Upper Ubekimakhi in southern Dagestan was gunned down by two unidentified men in the courtyard of his house.
A policeman and a cattle-breeder were killed in attacks in a village in Kabardino-Balkaria on Saturday, and a roadside bomb killed one civilian and wounded two others in Chechnya the same day.
