Opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, a virulent critic of President Vladimir Putin, was shot to death on Friday night, while crossing Moscow's Bolshoi Kamenny Bridge on foot.

A former deputy prime minister who had feared he would be murdered, Boris Nemtsov is the most prominent opposition figure killed in Putin's 15-year-rule.
