Russian Blacksmiths Display Their Craft

In this collection of photographs, blacksmiths are shown working at a forge in Myshkin, a town in the Yaroslavl region with a population of less than 6,000 people.

Blacksmiths use tools to hammer and bend objects from wrought iron or steel, after heating up the metal until it become soft enough to shape.? 





The work is demanding, and blacksmiths need to have good physical strength to carry out their job.
