Russia Sets Record With Mass Snowball Fight on Ded Moroz's Birthday

Russia has set a national record for the biggest snowball fight after 450 people pelted each other with snowballs as part of the celebrations for Ded Moroz's birthday.? 




The birthday of Ded Moroz — the Russian "Father Christmas" ?€” is celebrated every year on Nov. 18 in his birthplace of Veliky Ustyug, Volodga region, and marks the beginning of the holiday season.? 





? The largest snowball fight ever recorded was a mass snow brawl in 2009 in Leuven, a city in Belgium, in which 5,768 people reportedly participated.? 





Although some historians claim Ded Moroz is more than 150 years old, his exact age has never been officially confirmed.
