'Hello Teddy' Bear Collection in Moscow

Nearly 300 exhibitors are currently showing off their teddy bears as part of the sixth Moscow international exhibit of collectable bears on Tishinskaya Ploshchad. If that name is a bit of a mouthful, then the name of the website, HelloTeddy.ru, is a more concise way of showing what the exhibit is about.? 




The bears, and a few cats and goats, range from newly made ones to antique numbers such as two Steiff toys from 1908. Richard Steiff was a German designer who is credited with creating the first teddy bear in 1902.? 





Other animals range from bears dressed in Soviet military uniforms to a bear the size of a young child, to a bear that you can fit on the palm of your hand. Apart from different sizes, the bears also come in lots of different materials including a couple crafted from the old Soviet newspaper Pionerskaya Pravda.? 





For those who want to make their own teddy bears, there are also companies at the show that can provide all the material that you need to create your own teddy. The exhibit runs until Sunday.
