Circle of Light

The Circle of Light Moscow International Festival came to an end on Sunday night after nine days of spectacular light shows.
This year the festival had two parts. The first in May celebrated the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The second part coincided with the 6th Moscow Biennale, giving art lovers a continuation of museum exhibitions at night and outside — on buildings, on water, and in the skies.

On Patriarch's Ponds the story of Mikhail Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita" danced on the water. The facade of the Bolshoi Theater lit up with light works created by the finalists of the Art Vision Classic competition. The VDNKh park was transformed into a garden of light, with a show on Pavilion No. 1 synchronized to a special musical program by Dmitry Malikov, while figure skaters danced on ice along with a light show. And the walls of the Detsky Mir children's store were the canvas for toys and a make-believe world.
