Activists Commemorate Victims of Stalinist Repression

Russians on Wednesday gathered outside the former KGB headquarters at central Moscow's Lubyanka Square, ahead of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression held annually on Oct. 30.



As part of "The Return of Names" event organized by human rights organization Memorial, activists took turns reading out the? full list of? names of? the 30,000 people executed under the rule of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin in? Moscow between 1937 and? 1938.
