Russia reduced mineral fertilizer production by 1.4 percent year on year to 10.8 million tons in the January-to-July period, the State Statistics Service reported, according to Interfax.
Nitrogen fertilizer output rose 1.7 percent to 4.78 million tons, phosphate fertilizer production fell 9.2 percent to 2.34 million tons, and potash output declined 4 percent to 4.19 million tons in the first seven months of the year.
Ammonia production was down 3.5 percent to 8.05 million tons, while sulfuric acid output grew 4 percent to 6.49 million tons. Russia produced 2.2 percent more soda ash at 1.66 million tons, and it turned out 6.8 percent more caustic soda at 630,300 tons.
